Small rural burial sites and family plots are preserved in this corner of the Red River Valley, including the Oslo Cem and Edward Johnson Cem in the north. The landscape is defined by the rigid grid of the Public Land Survey System, where townships like t159n r47w and t158n r47w meet at the boundary of Kittson Co Marshall Co. Agricultural drainage patterns and intermittent wetlands cross the terrain, serviced by a network of section-line roads such as 340th Ave and Co Rd 19. Aside from the established cemeteries, the more intimate Pederson Burials reflects the area's pioneer history and generational land ownership. Modern infrastructure is represented by Co St Aid Hwy 18, which serves as a primary east-west artery across the county line.
