The Manhattan area of Riley County is defined by the winding course of the Kansas River and the varied drainage systems of Wildcat Cr and Sevenmile Cr. This 2018 survey illustrates the expansion of suburban neighborhoods north of the city, such as those along Grand Mere Pkwy and near the Colbert Hills Dr golf course developments. In contrast to the growing residential sectors, the map documents significant institutional and legacy sites including the Kansas Veterans Cem at Manhattan and the Rebekah Independent Order of Odd Fellows Home Cem. Further west, the small community of Keats remains a distinct rural pocket. The southern portion of the sheet is dominated by the strategic location of the Manhattan Regional Airport and the riparian landscape near Eureka Lake and Ashland Bottoms, while the western edge reaches the outskirts of Ogden.
