Keentown sits at the eastern edge of this Manatee County landscape, situated near the confluence of the South Fork Little Manatee River and Peacock Branch. The terrain is defined by its complex hydrology, with numerous watercourses like Gilley Creek, Baker Branch, and Graveyard Creek dissecting the low-lying Florida interior. Near the center of the sheet, the Keen Cem and the adjacent Keen Branch reflect the heritage of local families who settled along these waterways. Much of the southern and eastern territory is integrated into a network of recreational paths, notably the Duette Park Trl, which winds through the scrub and hammocks. The presence of Peacock Hammock and the industrial imprint of Nu-Gulf Mine Rd illustrate the varied land use in this region, where natural preserves and rural homesteads coexist with the legacy of phosphate mining and agricultural grading roads like Taylor Grade Rd.
