Lagrange serves as the focal point of this northern Indiana landscape, where the town's street grid meets the agricultural and hydrologic networks of the county. The region is defined by a series of distinct water bodies and man-made drainage systems, including North Twin Lake and South Twin Lake in the northwest, and the Ontario Millpond near the settlement of Ontario. These waters, along with the Pigeon River and Fawn River, reflect the historical reliance on water for early industry, such as at Star Mill.
