Lake Toxaway and its surrounding mountain peaks dominate this 2016 survey of the Blue Ridge high country at the border of Jackson and Transylvania Counties. The landscape is defined by the sharp transition from the Great Balsam Mountains down through the Toxaway River and W Fork French Broad River valleys. The village of Quebec sits on the eastern edge of the sheet, providing a rare point of concentrated settlement in a region largely protected within the Nantahala National Forest and Pisgah National Forest.
