Lake Valley Summit marks the transition between two of Nevada's distinctive high-desert mountain chains. To the west, the slopes of the Schell Creek Range rise sharply, while the southeast is defined by the Fortification Range. Between these peaks lies the open expanse of Spring Valley, a landscape shaped by intermittent water sources such as South Spring and South Fox Spring. This 2015 survey illustrates the modern transportation corridor where the high road meets the valley floor, specifically near Kirkeby Knoll and South Spring Point. Local routes like S Highline Rd and Cr-47 provide access across the township lines, tracing the geography of White Pine County as it remains largely dedicated to open range and natural landmarks.
