Landergin is situated along the southern edge of this landscape, where the flat plains of the Texas Panhandle begin to break into the complex drainage systems of the Canadian River watershed. This survey captures the area as a sparsely populated ranching and transit corridor, anchored by the east-west passage of the I-40 Svc Rd. North of the settlement, the terrain is defined by the carved paths of the Middle Prong Alamocitos Cr, E Prong Alamocitos Cr, and Bradley Cr, which create a series of deep draws and ridges. To the south, Gist Lake and Cottonwood Creek mark the low-lying points of an otherwise arid environment. Local ranching operations are suggested by remote routes such as Deuces Ranch Rd, which winds through the rugged breaks at the northeast corner of the quadrangle.
