Nez Perce National Historical Park anchors this portion of the Nez Perce Reservation, where the Clearwater River meets the Potlatch River near the small settlement of Arrow. The landscape is defined by the deep incisions of Lapwai Creek and its many tributary gulches, such as Garden Gulch and Lyle Gulch. This area serves as a primary cultural and administrative hub, containing the settlements of Lapwai, North Lapwai, and Spalding.
