Armacosts Landing sits along the Ohio River at the southwestern corner of this study, marking a point of river access near the village of Mentor. The landscape is defined by the deep dissection of the plateau by numerous waterways, including Big Indian Creek and Twelvemile Creek, which have carved out features like Opossum Hollow. This 2010 survey highlights a rural geography where modern land uses, such as the Vista Grand Bison Ranch and multiple golf courses, exist alongside a dense network of historical burial grounds.
