Lemon Reservoir anchors the southeastern reach of this high-elevation landscape, where the Florida River flows through the heart of the San Juan National Forest. The topography is defined by the massive spine of Missionary Ridge to the west and a series of high mountain parks, including Horse Thief Park, Wallace Park, and Kroeger Park. These named meadows and the surrounding peaks are connected by a dense network of forest service trails and primitive roads such as the Lime Mesa Trl and Shearer Creek Trl.
