Lesbia lies at the heart of this high plains landscape, situated just east of the city of Tucumcari in eastern New Mexico. The area is defined by a sophisticated network of irrigation channels, including the Hudson Canal, Troutman Lateral, and McIntosh Lateral, which demonstrate the intensive water management required for agriculture in Quay County. These man-made waterways intersect the natural drainage of Alamosito Creek and Plaza Larga Creek, creating a distinct grid-like pattern of rural development.
