Forest Hill Village and the community of Lakeside occupy the western edge of the Flathead Valley, where suburban residential development meets the steep, wooded slopes of the Flathead National Forest. This 2014 survey captures a landscape defined by its network of modern access roads, such as Patrick Creek Rd and White Basin Rd, which wind through the foothills of the Salish Mountains. The transition from the valley floor to the high peaks is marked by several prominent summits, including Lion Mtn, Baldy Mtn, and Blacktail Mtn.
