Warm Springs Indian Reservation and the Deschutes National Forest define the high-elevation landscape of this 1980s provisional survey. The intersection of tribal lands and national forest is marked by the Indian Reservation and Wilderness Boundary, which cuts across the southern portion of the quadrangle. Significant water systems including the Whitewater River and Shitike Creek drain the slopes of Lionshead and Bald Peter, carving out a network of seasonal and perennial streams that transition into the Mt Jefferson Wilderness.
