Little Water lies at the heart of this landscape in the high desert of San Juan County, where life and geography are defined by ephemeral watercourses and local landmarks. The settlement is anchored by the Little Water Cem West Cem and Little Water Cem, reflecting generations of community history. The arid terrain is broken by the seasonal flows of Sanostee Wash and Tocito Wash, which drain towards the southern reaches of the quadrangle near Tocito Lake.
