Snake Mountains dominate the western horizon of this high-elevation landscape in Elko County, with Loomis Mtn serving as a prominent landmark. The terrain is defined by a dense network of drainage systems, including Bull Camp Cr, Cold Springs Cr, and the various branches of Willow Cr. These seasonal and perennial water sources have long supported livestock and limited human activity, evidenced by the presence of Loomis Pasture and the Schoer Place in the northern portion of the quadrangle.
