Klickitat Valley and the southern slopes of the Columbia Hills characterize this high-plateau landscape in south-central Washington. The terrain is defined by a series of deep drainages including Luna Gulch and Badger Gulch, which channel seasonal water toward the Little Klickitat River and Swale Cr. Elevated landmarks such as the prominent volcanic landform of Luna Butte provide navigational waypoints across a region dominated by ranching and agriculture.
