Lunar Crater and the surrounding volcanic terrain dominate this high-desert portion of Nye County as it was documented in 2012. The landscape is defined by its distinct geological formations, including the prominent Easy Chair Crater and the elevated ridges of Lunar Cuesta and Little Lunar Cuesta. To the southeast, the topography descends toward Lunar Lake and the expanse of Big Sand Springs Valley, where drainage patterns like Sand Springs Wash collect. Isolated water sources such as Lava Bed Spring and the Lava Bed Catch Basin highlight the scarcity of water in this arid environment. The road network is sparse, primarily consisting of unpaved routes such as Black Lava Rd and Easy Chair Crater Rd, which provide access to these remote geological landmarks.
