Lyman Lake and the surrounding woodlands of Douglas County define this landscape at the headwaters of several regional waterways. The Little Amnicon River and Middle River drain the northern reaches, while the E Fork Moose River flows through the southern wetlands toward Moose Lake. This 2018 survey captures the interface between recreational waters and the regional transit corridors, most notably the Wild Rivers State Trail, which traverses the northeastern corner along a former rail grade.
