1995 Map of Masonia

USGS Topo · Published 1997

About this map

Masonia (Site) and the high timberlands of the Coeur d' Alene National Forest dominate this mid-1990s landscape in Shoshone County. The map documents a rugged terrain defined by the transition between the mining legacies of the Silver Valley and the vast reaches of the St Joe National Forest to the south. Numerous mining remains, such as the Rhine Shaft and various prospects and adits, are scattered across the drainage basins of East Fork Pine Creek and Nabob Creek, indicating the heavy industrial footprint once present in these canyons.
