About this map

Lake Michigamme dominates the landscape of this mid-century survey, its northern shores defined by the Duluth South Shore and Atlantic railroad corridor. The village of Michigamme is positioned along the western edge of the lake, where the Lakeview Cem overlooks the water. This area of the Upper Peninsula is characterized by dense woodland and extensive water bodies, much of it managed within the Spurr State Forest and Michigamme State Forest.
