Quartzsite anchors the eastern edge of this desert landscape, where the flat expanse of the La Posa Plain meets the complex topography of the Dome Rock Mountains. This 2021 survey reveals a region defined by critical mountain passages and drainage systems, including Marquitta Pass, Diablo Pass, and Boyer Gap. These natural corridors have historically dictated movement through the arid terrain between the western heights of Mid Camp Mtn and the prominent landmark of Sugarloaf Peak to the south.
