Salmon Falls Cr meanders through the high desert floor of Elko County, defining a landscape shaped by hydrology and the movement of water. This section of northern Nevada features the small settlement of San Jacinto, situated near the junction of San Jacinto Rd and the path of Old Hwy US 93. The map captures a transition from the level valley floor to the prominent peaks of the Granite Range and Mid Stack Mtn, which dominate the eastern half of the quadrangle. The presence of multiple water sources, including Mineral Hot Spring, San Jacinto Ranch Spring, and Aspen Spring, suggests the critical role these points of water played for ranching and local settlement in an otherwise arid environment. Meadow Cr further illustrates the complex drainage system feeding into the larger creek basin, providing a detailed view of the terrain as it appeared in the early 21st century.
