Middle Verde and the surrounding Verde Valley are defined by the convergence of the Coconino National Forest and Prescott National Forest. This high-desert landscape features a network of essential water sources and livestock infrastructure, including Hull Spring, Oxtail Tank, and Pinto Mesa Tank, which supported ranching in the Black Hills region. The settlement of Camp Verde and the Yavapai County Superior Court anchor the eastern side of the map, where the Verde River provides a permanent water source.
