Upton County landscape patterns are defined by a geometric grid of rural roads and fenced boundaries in this 2019 survey of the Permian Basin region. The infrastructure is anchored by Fm 2401, which cuts east-west across the southern portion of the quadrangle, intersecting a network of county roads including Co Rd 114 and Co Rd 116. The terrain is marked by numerous small depressions and intermittent catchments, typical of the high plains drainage where natural water features are sparse and seasonal.
