Millers Ferry and the nearby settlement of New Hope anchor this 2018 survey of the Florida panhandle. The landscape is defined by the winding course of Holmes Creek and its many offshoots, including Mill Br and Reedy Br. This area exhibits a complex network of wetlands and small water bodies such as Big Brushy Lake, Warmouth Lake, and the aptly named Mill Pond. These features suggest a history shaped by the slow-moving waters of the Holmes Creek watershed and the timber or agricultural industries that typically follow such geography.
