Brady Mountains dominate the southeastern landscape of this Concho County quadrangle, where the terrain shifts from the high ridges of the range down into the drainage basins of several intermittent streams. The hydrology of the region is defined by the winding paths of Middle Kickapoo Cr and E Kickapoo Cr, which carve through the Edwards Plateau topography alongside Hog Cr. This 2016 survey illustrates a sparsely populated ranching landscape characteristic of West Texas, dominated by a network of county and private roads rather than established towns. The passage of FM 2402 and various local routes like Co RD 1445 and Co RD 1115 provide the primary access to the large land tracts and seasonal watercourses such as Duck Cr that define the local economy and geography.
