Minturn and the surrounding agricultural lands of Dillon County are defined by the winding course of the Little Pee Dee River and its numerous tributaries. In this 2014 landscape, the interstate border between North Carolina and South Carolina bisects the terrain, while internal county lines separate Dillon and Marlboro. The settlement at Carolina serves as a local hub, anchored by the Carolina Presbyterian Church Cem and nearby Leland Grove Cem.
