Washakie Reservoir serves as a prominent landmark in this high-elevation landscape of the Wind River Range, where glacial lakes and alpine streams define the topography. The terrain is marked by significant peaks such as Mt Popo Agie and Mt Cross, illustrating the high-relief environment of the Shoshone National Forest area. In the southern portion of the quadrangle, the Blue Trl provides a designated path through the wilderness, passing near Mosquito Park and descending toward Trout Cr. The intricate network of water features including Little Moccasin Lake, Shoe Lake, and Pie Lake highlights the basin-and-peak structure common to this part of the Rockies. Drainage patterns are dominated by the South Fork Little Wind River and its various tributaries like Crooked Cr, which cut through the steep contours of the surrounding ridges.
