Modoc Point rises sharply above the eastern shore of Upper Klamath Lake, defining a landscape where steep geological features meet the water's edge. This modern topographic study shows the high country of the Winema National Forest, dominated by the Canby Mountains and the long spine of Chiloquin Ridge. The interplay of water and terrain is evident in the numerous water sources along the base of the mountains, including Ouxy Spring, Sucker Spring, and Barkley Spring.
