Moenave is situated in a landscape defined by dramatic mesa formations and seasonal water sources in Coconino County. The settlement lies near the foot of Mori Mesa and the depths of Moenave Canyon, a location where natural hydrology such as Cliff Spring and Mesa Spring historically dictated human movement and habitation. This 2018 survey illustrates a network of named roads and traditional paths, including the Tuba City Gap Trl, which connects the high desert plateaus with the surrounding valleys. To the north, the prominent landmark of Tuba Butte rises above the terrain, while further east, Flat Rock marks the open country. Local thoroughfares like Indian Rte 101, Chee Willie Rd, and Vanzee Rd suggest a modern infrastructure overlaid on a territory with deep ancestral and geographic roots.
