The Continental Divide forms a dramatic central spine through this high-elevation landscape, marking the boundary between Bridger National Forest and Shoshone National Forest. This section of the Wind River Range is dominated by prominent summits including Mt Bonneville, Mt Geikie, and Mt Hooker, the latter of which supports the Hooker Glacier. The intricate drainage patterns on either side of the divide feed numerous alpine water bodies like Baptiste Lake and Pyramid Lake, eventually flowing into systems such as the East Fork River.
