The ridge-and-canyon terrain of the Coast Range defines this area on the Coos and Douglas county line. The prominent Mt Gurney and Bear Mtn anchor the high ground, while the Williams River and the E Fork Coquille River drain the steep drainages. The landscape is a network of timber and access roads, most notably the historic Coos Bay Wagon Rd which cuts through the southern sections.
