Mt Powell and Deer Lodge Mtn dominate this high-altitude landscape within the Deerlodge National Forest, where the topography is defined by dramatic glacial cirques and alpine basins. The western slopes are characterized by a series of clustered water bodies, including Martin Lake, Upper Elliot Lake, and Lower Elliot Lake, feeding into Tin Cup Joe Cr. To the east, the terrain drops away into significant natural features like Bielenberg Canyon and South America Park.
