Mt Wallace stands as the central topographic focal point of this high-elevation wilderness within the Gallatin National Forest. This section of the Absaroka Range is characterized by a complex network of glacial basins and plateaus, including North Fork Basin, Silver Basin, Clover Basin, and the expansive Red Rock Plateau to the south. The drainage patterns are defined by the headwaters of numerous creeks, such as Wallace Cr, Silver Cr, and Hellroaring Cr, which carve through the high terrain.
