The Little Belt Mountains form the northern backdrop of this landscape, where the Lewis & Clark National Forest encompasses much of the high ground. The terrain is defined by a series of deep drainage features, notably Daisy Canyon, Picnic Canyon, and the broad expanse of Big Coulee. Water is the primary architect here, with Mud Cr and Daisy Dean Cr flowing southward toward the N Fork Musselshell River, which cuts across the southwestern corner of the sheet. The presence of Mill Ditch indicates early water management efforts for agricultural purposes in this part of Wheatland County. Human passage is marked by a few established routes such as Findon Ln and Raschke Ranch Rd, which provide access through the complex network of canyons and coulees, including Quaking Aspen Coulee and Long Canyon.
