Na Ah Tee serves as a primary point of reference in this landscape defined by high mesas and seasonal washes within Navajo County. The terrain is characterized by the distinct volcanic formations of the Hopi Buttes and the prominent Gray Mesa, which rises above the complex drainage networks of Coyote Wash and Gleshbito Wash. The survival of these drainages and the location of Na Ah Tee Canyon suggest a landscape where water management and natural springs were critical for habitation and movement.
