The Boise National Forest defines this high-elevation landscape, where the headwaters of several significant drainages converge. The N Fork Boise River enters the northwest corner of the quadrangle, joined by tributaries such as Bayhouse Cr and Townsend Cr. The central and eastern portions of the sheet are characterized by a high alpine environment dotted with numerous glacial lakes, including Rock Island Lake, Azure Lake, and Diamond Lake.
