Dominated by the dramatic peaks of the Sawtooth Range, the area centers on Nahneke Mtn and Tackobe Mtn. The drainage patterns are intricate, with the Little Queens River and Johnson Creek carving through the granite terrain. Dozens of alpine basins hold named water bodies such as Azure Lake, Rock Island Lake, and Glacier Lake.
