New Meadows serves as the primary settlement on this mid-1980s survey, situated within the flat expanse of Meadows Valley. The landscape is defined by the drainage systems of the Little Salmon River and its numerous tributaries, including Goose Creek and Threemile Creek. To the west, the terrain rises sharply into the Payette National Forest, where steep ridges are carved by Mill Creek and Little Mud Creek.
