The Chehalem Mountains rise sharply above the fertile basin of French Prairie and the winding Willamette River, creating a landscape defined by significant elevation changes and agricultural richness. Newberg serves as the central hub, home to George Fox University and its many facilities, including the George Fox University Amphitheatre. The town's historical roots are preserved in several burial grounds, such as the Fernwood Pioneer Cem and the Yamhill County Friends Cem.
