Newcomb stands as the central hub of this high-desert landscape in the San Juan County region of the Navajo Nation. The terrain is defined by the broad Tunicha Valley and the prominent rising form of Grey Mesa to the southwest. Water, while seasonal, has shaped the topography through an intricate network of drainages including the Peña Blanca Arroyo and Tse-nas-chii Wash.
