Nicksville stands at the center of this 1950s ranching landscape in Cochise County, where the desert flats meet the eastern slopes of the Huachuca Mountains. The area is defined by a distinct pattern of family-owned spreads and specialized agricultural ventures, including the Wintergreen Mink Ranch and the Kinjockity Ranch. An active transportation and utility network is evident, with an Aqueduct and Telephone lines traversing the terrain alongside the Nicksville Airport and a separate Landing Strip.

To the west, the topography rises sharply into the Coronado National Forest, cut by several prominent drainages such as Miller Canyon and Hunter Canyon. This higher ground reveals the region's mineral interests at the Balke-Kirchner Mine. To the east, the land levels out toward the San Pedro R, passing through the land grant of San Rafael Del Valle. Numerous Ruins scattered across the quadrangle point to earlier periods of desert habitation and abandoned structures.
