About this map

The agricultural plains of Montgomery County are defined by a network of drainage ways and townships including Raymond, Roundtree, and Irving. In the late 1970s, this landscape transitioned from purely rural farm tracts to a region supporting modern infrastructure, as evidenced by the Janssen Landing Strip and the large Hillsboro Gas Storage Area situated in the southern sections. The hydrology of the area is centered on Middle Fork Shoal Creek, which feeds into the northern reaches of Lake Glenn Shoals. Local community centers are anchored by country houses of worship, specifically Mt Zion Ch and St John Ch, which served the scattered farmsteads of the Ricks and King township areas during this period of the twentieth century.
