About this map

Hoosier National Forest dominates the northern half of this landscape at the intersection of Monroe, Lawrence, and Jackson Counties. The terrain is defined by a dense network of ridges and hollows, such as Mitchell Ridge and Dennis Murphy Hollow, which are woven with an extensive system of forest trails like Hickory Ridge 4 Trail and Hickory Ridge 10 Trail. These rugged uplands drop away into the fertile drainage basins of Leatherwood Creek and Little Salt Creek.
