The Raft River Valley dominates this Idaho landscape, where the waters of the Raft River flow northward to meet the Snake River. In the northern reach of the sheet, the Minidoka National Wildlife Refuge protects the riverine environment near Tule Island. The small settlement at Raft serves as a focal point for local transport, situated near where the Raft River crosses under the main highway routes.
