Emmett and its surrounding agricultural basin are defined by a complex network of water management systems north of the Payette River. The landscape transitions from the residential streets of the town's northwestern corner into the cultivated expanses of the Emmett Bench. This area is heavily influenced by the Emmett Irrigation District N Side Main Canal, which feeds a series of secondary waterways including Seitz Ditch and Kesgaard Ditch. These irrigation features, along with natural drainage like Sevenmile Slough, were critical to the development of the local orchard and farming economy.
