The Santa Rosa Range dominates this portion of the Humboldt National Forest, where high-elevation terrain dictates the flow of water and the path of primitive roads. Rising significantly above the surrounding landscape, Odell Mountain serves as a central landmark for the network of seasonal drainages and springs that feed the Quinn River system. The E Fork Quinn River carves through the eastern and northern reaches, supported by smaller tributaries like Chicken Cr and Anderson Cr.
