Ojo Encino sits at the heart of this high-desert landscape on the border of Sandoval and McKinley counties. The terrain is defined by a network of drainage systems and prominent mesas, most notably the central Ojo Encino Mesa and the outlying Little Blue Mesa to the south. Arroyos and washes, including the winding Torreon Wash and Penistaja Arroyo, carve through the basin, illustrating the complex hydrology of the Eastern Navajo Agency.
