The Sepulga River snakes through the center of this Conecuh County landscape, defining the topography of the region near Travis Bridge. The settlement of Old Town sits at the junction of Us-31 and Us-84, a key transit point in southern Alabama's interior. Further south, Mount Union marks another point of settlement, characterized by its local church and the Mt Union Cem.

Genealogists will find several family-named markers throughout the quadrangle, including two separate locations for Hall Cem and the Jones Chapel Cem near Flat Rock.
