Omak Mountain dominates this portion of the Okanogan highlands, surrounded by a complex system of drainages and high valleys. The terrain transitions from the Wanacut Basin in the northwest toward the heights of Van Brunt Mtn and the southern French Valley. This area is defined by a network of rural access routes and trails that suggest a history of ranching and early transportation, including Clough Homestead Rd and the Stage Coach Trl. Local hydrology is marked by numerous seasonal creeks like Stapaloop Cr and Wanacut Cr, alongside named water sources such as Gordon Spring and Crusoe Spring which provided essential water in this elevated landscape. The presence of Gordon Butte and Browns Pass further illustrates the varied topography of this section of Washington's interior.
